TradieRing is a product of Kavosh, a Melbourne business run by Kamyar Karimi as a sole trader. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.
If you fill in our form
We collect your name, trade, business name, suburb, mobile number and the best time to call. We use them only to ring you about TradieRing. Your details are stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site, and emailed to Kamyar. We also keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) copy of your internet address for a short time to stop spam, and use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, sent the form.
If you call a business that uses TradieRing
TradieRing answers calls on behalf of the tradie you rang. For that call we:
- record the call and turn it into a written transcript;
- note your name, number, suburb or address, the job and how urgent it is;
- send a summary to the tradie by text message, and put urgent calls through to them;
- may text you back if your call was missed.
The tradie decides what happens with your job. We keep recordings, transcripts and summaries so the tradie can check what was said, and we don't sell or share them with anyone else, or use them for advertising.
Who helps us run it
To answer and summarise calls we use outside services for phone lines, text messages, speech recognition, voices and AI. Some of them store or process information outside Australia, for example in the United States. We choose providers that keep information secure, and only send them what they need to do the job.
How long we keep it
We keep call recordings and transcripts while the tradie uses TradieRing, and delete them when the tradie leaves or asks us to, unless the law requires us to keep them. Form enquiries are kept while we're talking with you, and deleted if you ask.
Your choices
You can ask to see or correct what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Email kamyar@kavosh.com.au and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how we handled a complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
